About the Position: To perform such duties necessary to meet full compliance with all special education regulations and to assist the building administrator with scheduling. program coordination, and the implementation of school policiies and procedures within the special services program levels.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor's degree in special education or general education
Experience
- One or more years of teaching in general education classroom
Other Requirements
- Master's degree in special education or relevant discipline
- Three or more years of teaching in a general or special education classroom
ESSENTAL JOB TASKS
- Oversee/writes Special Education Paperwork at designated school(s)
- Contact person for site board service Providers, principals and general education teacher
- Knowledge of Special Education Laws
- Participate in all SPED caseload IPE and MET meetings if service provider is not a certified SPED teacher.
- Collaborate with provider for consultation to mainstream teachers including of material, teaching strategies, behavior management, model teaching.
- in conjuncture with service provider help provide guidance to gen ed teachers on accommodations and medications for SPED students.
Working Conditions
Regular required to sit, stand, walk, crouch, bend, walking up and down stairs/ramps, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
