What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Design CAD Technician position at Edminster, Hinshaw, Russ & Associates, Inc?
Job Summary:
Capable of leading a small team and coordinating production work with the EIT’s and cad operators under the supervision of PE, PM or Plan Production PM. Recognizing and utilizing best Cad practices for efficiency of production. Capable of understanding design in order to coordinate and produce a full set of construction plans. A good understanding of conceptual site layout; utility design; roadway design; site grading design; storm drain design; storm water management design; water and sanitary sewer main design; soil erosion and sedimentation control design; floodplain studies; permitting and entitlement support; and construction support. Designer shall be qualified to perform some design task at the direction of the PM.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Master abilities of CAD Technician I-IV.
- Identifies potential design conflicts and applies innovative problem solving to determine solutions for project managers.
- Full knowledge of all agency design criteria
- Create preliminary design for “one- designs” with no assistance.
- Responsible for back checking CAD Tech work
- Read and interpret an earthwork model and be able provide review mark ups to make sure model is correct.
- Research plans
- Mentors and assists with training EITs and Interns
- Ensure compliance of quality standards in CAD drawings.
- Ensure that Junior CAD Technicians are trained and follow established CAD standards.
- Coordinate weekly CAD needs with Project Managers / CAD Techs on your team.
- Manage general QA/QC of CAD work performed by CAD Techs on your team.
- Set up and manage CAD workspace for projects.
- Work with other CAD Techs on your team on redline drafting.
- Efficient and accurate drafting with adherence to CAD standards.
- Coordinate drawing files and electronic transmittals with Clients.
- Project Design (within skill set and direction of Project Manager or Project Engineer).
- Attend majority of Land Services Grub and Grow
Education, certification and experience:
- Must have strong understanding of AutoCAD.
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years of experience.
