ESY/Summer School Contract

7hrs/day; 3 days/week

6-6-22 through 7-21-22

$25.00 per hour

 

Job Goal:

Plan and implement therapeutic activities either through direct or integrated therapy sessions for students with disabilities.  Provide consultation to general education teachers and special education teachers, including other related service providers regarding fine motor interventions and strategies to improve range of motion and motor function.  Function as a related service provider on the Individualized Education Program (IEP).              

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Works under the direct supervision of the Occupational Therapist.

 

  1. Aligns therapy sessions to meet the IEP goals for fine motor; Program planning and management.

 

  1. Program services include: self help, functional mobility, environmental adaptations/adaptive equipment, positioning, motor functions, sensory processing, pre-vocation/vocational skills.

 

  1. Function as related service provider and maintain contact with school, family, physicians, and private therapist/agencies.

 

  1. Order materials or equipment for students with fine motor deficits, as well as provide adaptation, fabrication and repair of equipment or materials to meet the student’s unique needs.

 

  1. Establishes and maintains appropriate data collection, progress reports and subsequent IEP goals/objectives.

 

  1. Performs other duties as may be assigned.

 

 

Length of Contract:          Sixteen (16) contract days.

 

 

                  

 

Evaluation:  Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Coordinator of Special Education/Site Administrator in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policies and state law.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

An associate degree or certificate program from a community or vocational/technical college. Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Graduate from a program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association and pass the National Certification Exam.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Valid Oklahoma COTA license.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively interpret and present information, as well as respond to questions from groups, staff, parents, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to plan budgets and use the mathematical skills required to do so.  Maintain accurate records and support documentation for projects under the supervision of the position.

 

REASONABLE ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to use computer and computer related programs and other technologies needed to perform essential job functions.  Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community.  Ability to organize and chair or facilitate committees and meetings.  Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.  Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside.  The noise level in the work environment is quiet to loud depending upon the activity in the particular part of the day and location.
