Associate Faculty (PT) : ITAD Technology Instructor Pool
SALARY: Five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $5,865.
LOCATION: Lynnwood Washington
DESCRIPTION:
The Edmonds College Business Division and the Information Technology Application Development Department invites applications for an Associate Faculty Instructor pool. This is a part-time faculty position, teaching quarterly, onsite, software development courses with a weekly student support session. This position is supported by faculty training, development, and mentoring. The college seeks associate faculty who will take a leadership role in their departments and the college, will adapt to a variety of teaching situations, can use technology to teach effectively, and will work effectively with students, staff, and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and student success. This Associate Faculty position reports to the Dean of Business. The desire candidate may be expected to teach any of the following courses and topics: ITAD 300 (Software Engineering), ITAD 315 (Discrete Mathematics for Developers), ITAD 330 (Database Models & Design), ITAD 345 (Useability Engineering), ITAD 360 (Application & Data Integration), ITAD 375 (Cloud Computing), ITAD 400 (Mobile Application Development), ITAD 415 (Introduction to Machine Learning), ITAD 430 (Embedded Systems), and/or ITAD 445 (Emerging Trends).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Web & Application Development, or a related field.
Strong knowledge/understanding of software development and methodologies.
Has essential skills and information needed to troubleshoot, problem solve, and help learners understand a wide variety of programming languages.
Excellent presentation skills and the ability to interact professionally with students.
Demonstrated experience managing and working effectively in both in-person and remote classroom environments.
Strong verbal and written skills.
Candidates must exhibit appreciation of, sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse college environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
Excellent speaking, writing, listening, critical thinking, and technology skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Python and UX design experience
Experience with Canvas and other LMS platforms
2 years of experience teaching or training adults in person and/or online
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in a variety of settings including classrooms, skills labs and off campus sites. Standing or sitting for long periods of time may occur in any of the settings mentioned. The ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English is essential.

The work schedule is based on an eleven-week quarterly schedule and could vary each quarter.

Work schedule is based on an eleven week quarterly schedule and could vary each quarter. Salary is dependent upon contract load and mode of instruction. A standard five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $5,865.82 at Step A.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
You must document your citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire.

Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant’s suitability and competence to perform in the position.
