Associate Faculty (PT) : Librarian Pool SALARY: $48.92 LOCATION: Lynnwood Washington DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Library and Learning Resources, the Associate Faculty Librarian primarily serves students at the reference desk or in other modalities. This position requires a collaborative approach to providing library services to diverse students, including engaging, serving, and/or addressing their needs with knowledge of how library services impact students of color, those who are low income, and underserved populations. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides skilled reference service (in person, chat, telephone, email) to students, faculty, staff and community. Serves as librarian-in-charge for the library in the absence of full-time library faculty or the library’s associate dean. Performs other assignments as requested in response to the need for librarian skills or expertise (i.e. information literacy instruction, develop library Libguides and handouts, collection maintenance, etc.). REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: MLIS from an ALA-accredited graduate school. At least one year of library reference experience. Knowledge about how to effectively retrieve information in print and electronic resources. Computer proficiency. Previous experience managing public spaces. PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is typically performed in the library. Standing or sitting for long periods of time may occur in any of the settings mentioned. The ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English is essential. The ability to conduct regular rounds of 25,000 square foot library public spaces located on two floors to ensure students’ needs are being met and the ability to access books on bookshelves are essential to this role. COMPENSATION: Hourly wage: $53.27/hour. WORK SCHEDULE: In person weekday evening (5-9pm) and weekend (1-5pm) shifts. On-call evening or day shifts, as needed. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must document your citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire. Criminal background check.
