MECHATRONICS AND ROBOTICS FACULTY POSITION

DESCRIPTION: Edmonds College is seeking a Mechatronics and Robotics full-time, non-tenure Faculty member for a one-year contract position. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the education and development of future professionals in the fields of mechatronics, robotics, and automation.
As a Mechatronics and Robotics Faculty Member, you will be responsible for teaching and providing leadership in various Mechatronics and Robotics courses, including, but not limited to, control systems (PLCs), electronics, robotics, pneumatics/hydraulics, automation, industrial power, and smart factories. In this role, you will be responsible for developing an inclusive and equitable curriculum, preparing teaching materials, developing and assessing learning outcomes to evaluate student work, assigning grades, maintaining required records, academic advising, and consulting with students. Other responsibilities include: department collaboration; participating in achieving the College¿s mission and goals; upholding the College¿s values; college governance via department and division work; committee assignments; required professional development and college in-service activities (including employee orientation and college compliance training); and personal and program evaluation. The teaching assignment may include early morning, late afternoon, evening, weekend, or online classes. This is a one-year, Full-time, non-tenure track faculty position reporting to the Dean of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The position is anticipated to start in September 2025 and will have a 9-month service period.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent degree in a field related to mechatronics, automation, robotics, engineering, or engineering technology conferred prior to the start of employment OR relevant industry certifications and equivalent industry experience (at least 5 years).
Demonstrated professional work experience in the field of mechatronics, robotics, industrial automation, engineering, or artificial intelligence.
Experience teaching, training, or mentoring others in the fields of mechatronics, robotics, and/or industrial automation. Experience and/or interest in artificial intelligence is helpful.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with populations of diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in a classroom and office and requires standing or sitting for extended periods. Faculty members are required to use a computer in the work environment.
COMPENSATION:
The salary is based on the current faculty salary schedule; placement is based on education and related experience. The current range is $85,958.16 - $87,367.71 annually for a 172-day appointment with progressive increases to $104,266.14 annually. The College provides an excellent benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, and a retirement plan.

This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
