Position Information :
The Career Center Specialist supervises the operation of a high school Career Center, educates students and parents about college and career options, trends and procedures in college and career planning. This position develops professional relationships with college representatives and community members regarding college entrance and career planning, creates instructional materials and presents career-related information in the classroom, acts as a liaison with businesses and community organizations to establish volunteer and employment opportunities for students.
Shift Details : 6 hours per day; 183 day calendar
Continuing Position : Employees have reasonable assurance of continued employment to the following school year. However, an employee's total work hours and the designated beginning and ending times may vary.
FLSA Status : Non-Exempt
Hourly Rate : $36.56 to $40.41 (hourly) (2024-2025 Classified Support Staff Salary Schedule)

Required Qualifications :
Education and Experience :
- Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent
- In addition, a paraeducator must meet one of the following :
1. Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university
2. Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university
3. Completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council
4. Received a passing score on one of the following PESB approved assessments :

Eligibility for SEBB state health insurance coverage is determined by working 630 hours during the school year. Eligibility for retirement at the time of hire is determined by employees who work at least 3.50 hours per day in a continuing position.
