- Attend required orientation and training
- Implement summer curriculum, instruction, and assessment program
- Provide small-group and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students
- Monitoring student progress
- Helping students set daily goals for coursework
- Following through with students to ensure they have met daily goals
- Responding promptly to student questions
- Reading and responding to email frequently
- Monitoring assessments
- Communicating with families and students
- Making phone or email contact with students and families when students are not making adequate progress
- Other job duties as needed
- Staff Orientation and Training will take place prior to the start of summer school. Specific dates and times for training are TBD, and will be communicated with staff upon hire.

About the Position
This is a general posting that will be used to generate an applicant pool for Elementary Multilingual Learner summer school teachers. Our ML summer school program is designed to support new-to-English students’ language acquisition by providing a fun and interactive learning experience. Our two-week long summer program sessions will focus on developing English language production skills while learning about a specific content area. While applications will be accepted from both internal and external applicants, preference will be given to internal applicants. A valid Washington State Teaching Certificate and ELL endorsement is required and a copy should be attached to your application. Previous GLAD training is preferred. Teachers will be expected to be on site to teach in-person. Teachers who apply and are selected for the position will have the option to select to teach for two weeks or for four weeks.

Hourly position paid via timesheet: $49.53 per hour, 4.50 hours a day for instruction and $26.76 per hour for required training prior to the start of summer school; specific training dates and times to be determined.
Required Qualifications
Washington State Teaching Certificate with an English Learner endorsement.
