Looking for dedicated Veterinary assistants to join our team!
We are a privately owned Veterinary clinic in Edmonds looking for some amazing people to add to our team! We are a small general practice for cats & dogs, usually one doctor each day.
We are looking for hard working, dedicated, energetic & detail oriented people! You'll play a very important role in the daily activities of our clinic - assisting the doctor, your team mates, and of course, the patients! We would be happy to train someone new to the field as an assistant, though previous experience is preferred. Responsibilities include:
- Collect information from clients about their pets and reason for visit.
- Properly restrain cats and dogs during examinations and treatment.
- Fill medications prescribed by veterinarian.
- Write up notes from visits and client communications.
- Set up for, prep, monitoring and recovery of basic surgeries.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Feed, walk, and care for boarding animals.
- Assist with euthanasia.
- Perform subcutaneous injections, fluid administration, and nail trims.
- Answer phone calls from clients and scheduling of appointments.
- Venipuncture, placing IV catheters, positioning for X-rays, preparing slides for cytology, and handling of lab samples are other responsibilities that our assistants perform on a daily basis. If you are not experienced in these tasks, we can teach you!
- Please note that pay does depend on experience & skill set.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
