Clean Room Technician (2nd Shift)

Overview

A coating cleaner prepares all optics for coating by using documented methods and limits, including inspection, and cleaning and to load and unload tooling jigs. This is a second shift position and the hours are 3:00pm - 1:30am, Monday through Thursday. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Perform fundamental inspections of either coated and/or uncoated lenses, as necessary.
  • Run the Elma cleaner with pre-programmed settings.                                                      
  • Surface inspection, lens AR coating.                                                                              
  • Surface inspection, mirror AR coating.                                                                            
  • Surface inspection, finished glass, uncoated, as necessary.                                             
  • Load optics into appropriate tooling jigs and unload coated optics.                                    
  • Perform dimensional inspection of glass using micrometers, vernier and/or other gauges, as necessary.
  • Wrap and pack lenses as necessary.                                                                             
  • Read and understand lens drawings as well as worksheet instructions.                             
  • Handles optics in an appropriate manner to ensure both safety to the cleaner and to avoid any damage to the parts.                                                                                                                           
  • Prepare optical surfaces for coating by following appropriate cleaning procedures and inspecting surfaces to ensure that surfaces are clean for coating.                                                                                        
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
  • Timeliness and regular attendance are required.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and understand lens drawings and worksheet instructions.
  • Adequate eyesight to perform the job accurately

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

 

Physical Requirements:

Adequate manual dexterity to perform essential functions; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.; ability to work in manufacturing environment.

 

Other Requirements:                     

  • Work overtime as required.                                                                    
  • US Citizenship or permanent residence required
