Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Technician to join our team at Edmund Optics. As an Advanced Technical Role, this position requires a thorough understanding of optical parameters and the ability to serve as a subject matter expert in optical performance verification.
The ideal candidate will have experience with QA Lab equipment, including its applications for measuring specific products and parameters. They will perform precise measurements to verify optical profiles using industry standard techniques and equipment, such as spherometers, profilometers, Vision Measuring Machines (VMM), Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), and interferometers.
The technician must be well-versed in inspection and measurement techniques, optical drawing interpretation, and First Article Inspection (FAI) document review and process. They will also support the development and revision of work instructions for inspection and measurement activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform precise measurements to verify optical profiles using industry standard techniques and equipment
- Verify coating performance using appropriate methods and tools
- Provide support as the acting lead for QC personnel when the Supervisor is unavailable
- Operation of lab and inspection equipment
- Inspection and measurement techniques
- Optical drawing interpretation
- First Article Inspection (FAI) document review and process
- Support the development and revision of work instructions for inspection and measurement activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related science preferred but not required
- Previous experience with SAP or similar ERP system
- Strong commitment to maintaining accurate and honest Quality Records in compliance with industry standards
- US Citizenship or permanent residency required
