About the Position
The Supplier Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of third-party suppliers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for qualifying, developing, and maintaining our suppliers to meet Edmund Optic's expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage third-party suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and quality.
- Conduct Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations to resolve customer concerns.
- Develop process controls and quality plans with suppliers.
- Perform quality system audits on third-party suppliers and generate audit reports.
- Interact with Marketplace and Manufacturing Service Group to align product specifications with manufacturing capabilities.
- Read and interpret optics drawings against MIL-PRF-13830, ISO-10110, and ANSI/OEOSC standards.
- Develop inspection plans for custom and non-custom products using risk assessment tools and methodologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Principles, and statistical analysis quality tools.
- Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) preferred.
