Position Overview
As a Special Education Instructional Aide at Ednovate, you will be responsible for ensuring that students with Individualized Education Plans receive differentiated behavior and/or academic support, reinforcing instructional objectives. You will work closely with the Special Education Teacher. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who connects and collaborates well with students and teachers, looking to create positive multigenerational change in a collaborative, results-oriented environment. The 1:1 Special Education Aide will serve as the primary one-to-one support for a student with learning differences and support the Special Education department as needed. This is a full time, non-exempt role that reports to the Principal.
What You'll Do
Collaborates with the special education teacher in order to adapt classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives and meeting IEP goals.
Administers tests, homework, make-up work, etc. for the purpose of supporting student needs in the classroom.
Communicates with supervising instructional staff, and a variety of health care professionals, and professional support personnel for the purpose of communicating progress or implementing IEP objectives.
Monitors student’s daily schedule and behavior plan for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
Provides, under the supervision of the assigned teacher, instruction to the student in a variety of individual and group activities for the purpose of reinforcing instructional objectives; implementing IEP plans; and ensuring the student’s access to his/her least restrictive environment.

Bachelor’s degree preferred
An unwavering belief in academic success for all students required

Prior school experience supporting students with special needs strongly preferred
Comfortability with a high degree of transparency and accountability for results required
Resourcefulness, persistence, and consistent reflective on improving results required

Ability to connect well to students and value communication and partnership with families required
