EDR is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to join our growing Engineering Team in our White Plains, NY office. In this role, you will be a member of multidisciplinary teams that develop studies, assessments, engineering reports and evaluations, calculations, and technical design documents such as equipment and material specifications and drawings. You will work on a variety of projects, each with its own team and unique set of problems to solve. Project locations are primarily within the Northeast region of the United States.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, civil, process, and automation engineers to understand project objectives, critical success factors, and to develop drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Refine your professional skills under the mentorship and direction of seasoned mechanical engineering professionals.
  • Perform HVAC load calculations, ductwork, pipe sizing, and any other calculations required to support the mechanical design.
  • Prepare design documentation (specifications, construction drawings, cost estimates) and basis of design reports to support the construction of new mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions, gather information, meet with clients, and observe construction and help resolve field issues during construction.
  • Perform construction administrative duties such as providing responses to RFIs, process addenda, review of shop drawings and submittals.
  • Work from the White Plains, NY office and collaborate with distributed teams.
  • An estimated 5% of regional travel may be expected to perform site reconnaissance and to evaluate conformance with design documents.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience.
  • Successful completion of the NYS Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the US without restriction.
  • Effective knowledge of the NYS Building Mechanical/Plumbing Code.
  • Desired experience in MEP industry working on new and existing facility upgrades for municipalities, government projects, and commercial projects.


The anticipated base pay range of $85,000-$95,000 per year is commensurate with experience. EDR reserves the right to pay outside of the target range based on an individual’s education, credentials, skill level and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity, geographic location, and business needs. EDR is a multi-disciplinary consulting and design firm that has been in business for over 45 years. EDR’s Engineering practice area consists of technical staff that deliver high quality deliverables to our many clients. Along with Water Resources, our engineering team includes engineers that have a focus on Structural, Civil, Automation, Electrical, HVAC and Plumbing areas of work.
