Business Services Representative - Work Experience Coordinator

This Business Services position will be focused on Work Experience. This position will identify and contact prospective employers to participate in Work Experience opportunities for our participants. The BSR will match participants to appropriate Work Experience opportunities and oversee successful completion of each opportunity. This position will act as a liaison between local employers and program participants. This position will support multiple programs in Delaware County including EARN, the Veteran’s Program, the In-School Youth and Out-of-School Youth Programs, and the Apprenticeship Program.

Responsibilities

· Establish working relationships with local employers; interact with personnel and/or manager responsible for the hiring of new employees

· Promote Work Experience options to employers and establish their commitment to providing Work Experience opportunities for participants

· Organize detailed job descriptions for job bank

· Maintain a strong base of communication with program teams

· Maintain a relationship with the employer during the participant’s Work Experience

· Identify and build relationships with new employers who will hire youth

· Prepare employers to execute worksite agreements to ensure that all worksite agreements are signed by employers

· Ensure labor laws and safety regulations are followed by host employers

· Focus on employers in HPO and IDOL careers

· Support employers with career pathways information for youth

· Share opportunities with all DELCO youth providers via Match Meetings and written communications

· Conduct satisfaction surveys of Youth Work Experience employers

· Support youth job fairs, including tracking hires in the CWDS

· Report on activities to WD

Qualifications

· Must have 1-3 years of sales or business experience

· Must have excellent communication and teamwork skills

· Should have skills and experience in providing career development assistance

· Should be able to converse with a wide range of professionals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude

· Experience or knowledge of human or social services is a plus

· Should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office

· Must have notable experience in a team-oriented environment

· Bachelor's degree in business, education, human resources or related area is preferred

· Valid driver’s license and an automobile are required
