As Career Services Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating career development initiatives within the American Job Center locations. Our Career Services Managers leads a team dedicated to supporting individuals in achieving their career goals. Responsibilities include developing and implementing career services programs, fostering connections with employers, and facilitating networking opportunities for students or clients. You will also work with internal and external partners to enhance career readiness and job placement outcomes.
Our team is growing as we enhance our services throughout the community! At the American Job Center, our team of career advisors, job developers and business services consultants have come together to provide services to assist jobseekers in their career endeavors.
Responsibilities
Successful Elements:
· Oversee assigned team at the American Job Centers in the North Central Region
· Ensure that quality service is provided to interpret customer’s assessments, as well as their job skills in order to achieve employment outcomes
· Interpret performance data and set achievable outcomes for their teams and to pivot when there are issues
· Manage the day-to-day functions of an office with a variety of personality types and job functions to ensure that operations are effectively serving customers and partners
· Report directly to Assistant Director and communicate performance, success, and challenges during weekly check-ins
· Partner with, build, and maintain positive working relationships with DOL, CWP, and other appropriate agencies
Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
· At least 3 years’ experience in a leadership role, preferably in career services, human resources, or related fields
· Experience managing and motivating teams, setting goals, and providing guidance and support to team members
· In-depth knowledge of career development theories, job market trends, and employment strategies
· Excellent communication skills: communicate clearly, listen actively, and convey information and feedback effectively. among team members
· Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, employers, alumni, and other stakeholders
· Experience in program development and implementation to meet the career services goals of the organization
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is essential for report generation and data analysis
Education Requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree
