Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Computer Science Teacher at Springfield, MA for a Junior Senior High School grades. A successful candidate will continue to develop computer science courses to supplement the current offerings. Strong ability to multitask is necessary. The candidate must be comfortable instructing lower level coursework as well as challenging students with more advances principles in the Mobile Computer Science Principles course..
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include daily instruction and assessment, maintaining a safe and rigorous classroom environment, and communicate effectively with colleagues, families and administrators.
- Candidate should have a certification in Digital Literacy/Computer Science or Business and possess the following skill sets:
- Strong problem solving skills
- Experience with coding in but not limited to Scratch by MIT, App Inventor, HTML and Python. Ability to write in JavaScript and Java a plus
- Must have strong skills in Microsoft 365 including proficiency in Word, Excel and Access
- Strong communication skills
- Strong classroom management and safety practices
- Ability to engage students from variety of backgrounds as active learners
- Team player
Job Requirements:
- Applicant will hold a Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license
- Bachelor degree in Digital Literacy/Computer Science or Business, Master's preferred
- Able to work independently with minimal direction
