Summary

The Part-Time Special Projects Coordinator for TUPE will work closely with the Senior Manager for Special Projects to successfully manage the Tobacco Use Prevention Education Program (TUPE). The coordinator will work with EduCare’s internal departments, school administration, clients, partnering agencies, and all other stakeholders, to ensure that program logistics are executed effectively, and the project goals and objectives are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates program staff, specifically program facilitators.
  • Coordinates program and event logistics.
  • Schedules staff, manages program calendars, and event schedules.
  • Communicates frequently and effectively with all program stakeholders.
  • Manages daily program operations at the participating school sites.
  • Conducts frequent school site visits to evaluate staff performance.
  • Assists in coordinating events, activities, and meetings for school administration, parents, and communityorganizations, in order to increase program support.
  • Attends all Saturday program events, training, and leadership meetings.
  • Maintains clear communication regarding training, leadership activities schedules, and dates.
  • Orders and purchases supplies.
  • Responsible for program supplies, inventory tracking and coordinates supply pick-ups.
  • Attends professional development events, site staff meetings, and EduCare organizational meetings.

Education and Experience

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., Dropbox, Google Docs and PayChex Flex Payroll systems for timekeeping purposes.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Other Qualifications

Must be willing and able to travel to multiple locations throughout Los Angeles County for programs, workshops, events, trainings, and meetings. Successful completion of the Live Scan background check (fingerprints) and proof of a negative TB (Tuberculosis Test) within 60 days of hire date. Incumbent must also secure and maintain a CPR/First Aid certification and attend annual Risk Management training. Availability and willingness to work extended hours and occasional weekends as necessary.

Pay: $27.50 per hour
