What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Summer Program Site Lead position at EduCare Foundation?

Summary: The Temporary Summer Program Site Lead position will support one of EduCare Foundation’s (EduCare’s) elementary school and middle school summer programs. EduCare will be providing summer programs at five middle schools, four elementary schools, and one SPAN school within the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). In addition to working with middle school students at one of our six-hour program sites, the Temporary Summer Program Site Lead will provide administrative support and act as a back-up to the Site Coordinator at the assigned school site.

Duration: June 10, 2024 – August 2, 2024

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Acts as Site Coordinator when Site Coordinator is off site
  • Assists the summer instructors with activity planning and execution.
  • Assists the Site Coordinator with day-to-day operations
  • Ensures all attendance for their site is submitted daily
  • ·Manages all registration forms and ensures incident reports are reported in a timely manner to the summer upper management team
  • Assists with managing the summer instructors’ schedules and lesson planning activities
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of day-to-day programming, spirit weeks, and special events at their site.

  • Other Skills and Abilities: Impeccable administrative skills, Ability to learn and manage computer software systems effectively and promptly, Must have previous experience working with middle or high school students, Ability to remain focused while working with interruptions, Detail oriented with excellent follow through, Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills and problem-solving initiative, Ability to work with varied populations, such as administrators, teachers, parents, and students, Some evenings and weekends are required, Bilingual (English/ Spanish) is a plus.
  • Other Qualifications: Must be willing and able to travel to multiple locations throughout the Los Angeles area for trainings, meetings, etc. on an as needed basis. Must present proof of negative Tuberculosis skin test (Mantoux) prior to beginning employment dated within 60 days prior to hire date. Must complete CPR/First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment, Completion of other required trainings (i.e., worker’s compensation, training against harassment, etc.) when assigned.
  • Other Qualifications: Although the employee will be assigned to a specific school site location, if EduCare’s needs change, the employee may be re-assigned to another school site location. Must be willing and able to travel to multiple locations throughout the Los Angeles area for trainings, meetings, etc. on an as needed basis. Must successfully complete the Live Scan background check prior to beginning employment. Must present proof of negative Tuberculosis skin test (Mantoux) dated within 60 days prior to the hire date before beginning employment. Must complete CPR/First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment. Completion of other required trainings (i.e., worker’s compensation, training against harassment, etc.) when assigned.

Work Schedule: 12:00pm-6:00pm M-Th, and 12:30-6:00pm F

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 29 per week

  • After-School programing: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)
