Royal Valley schools serve residents along the Highway 75 corridor in southern Jackson County, including the towns of Hoyt and Mayetta, as well as the Prairie Band Potawatomi Reservation. Royal Valley High School (9-12) is located in Hoyt. Royal Valley Middle School (5-8) is located in Mayetta, and Royal Valley Elementary School (K-4) is located in Hoyt. The district serves about 850 students, with Royal Valley High School competing in KSHSAA class 3A. The district has made significant investment in district facilities and technology, with a 1:1 ratio with Chromebooks for students, grades 3 - 12. Elementary students have a 1:1 ratio with iPads.
