This position instructs students in lessons and activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth in subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

• Teaches district approved curriculum.
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Prepares for assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes and communicates clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects.
• Recognizes learning problems in students and makes appropriate accommodations.
• Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct; develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure; and maintains order.
• Is available to students and parents for educational-related purposes outside of the instructional day.
• Maintains confidentiality of student information.

Salary Information

Starting salary $48,500 with a bachelor's degree based upon the 2024-2025 salary schedule, higher depending upon experience, graduate hours, and FTE. New teachers will be paid $100 per day to attend up to four (4) new teacher orientation days.
