Our Client, a leader in commercial real estate and facilities/asset management is seeking to add a Mechanical/Electrical Technician to their Data Center team in Mesa, AZ. This individual will work with a growing staff of 15 in managing all things Mechanical/Electrical in a 40K square foot data center operating 24/7/365 at 36MW. This team assures upkeep, maintenance and advancement of a new state-of-the-art data center – built in 2020. The schedule for this role is 3rd SHIFT, Wednesday-Saturday (OR Sunday – Wednesday) 6pm-6am, with 3 days on and 4 days off and then 4 days on and 3 days off, AND does require some initial training on 1st shift. This role is based onsite, requires no travel, and pays $39-$42 per hour (15% shift differential for 3rd shift hours) with OT paid at time and a half AND a guaranteed 10% annual bonus. The role also includes a strong benefit package including generous PTO and full benefits. Relocation packages are available for qualified candidates.
This role:
- Uses advanced skills to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs in a Data Center operation.
- Delivers oversight of electrical and mechanical systems, including but not limited to: Universal Power Supply (UPS) systems, generators, chillers, Electrical Distribution, HVAC systems, Building Management Systems (BMS) systems, and CMMS Work Dispatching.
- Perform daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering (M&E) systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance.
- Complete assigned work according to established processes and procedures in accordance with Environment, Health and Safety Policies.
- Ensure all safety processes and PPE requirements are followed. Also, ensure all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met.
- Oversee third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws/regulations.
- Accompany vendors on site visits on an as needed basis and ensure site standards are met.
- Help create and develop work processes, Job Hazard Analysis reports, and SOPs for critical work with risk assessment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED required
- 3 years experience in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- 1 years experience working in a Data Center Environment
- Knowledge of emergency response/standby/call out activities and protocols.
- Strong background in either HVAC or Electrical Systems
- Background or knowledge of the following: Universal Power Supply (UPS) systems, generators, chillers, Electrical Distribution, HVAC systems, Building Management Systems (BMS) systems, and CMMS Work Dispatching.
