ESC has an exciting direct hire opportunity for a Sourcing Manager with a strong background in sourcing electronics components. In this role, you will lead the Sourcing and Material Planning teams to ensure the procurement of high-quality electronic components, optimize supply chains, and drive cost efficiency. You’ll work closely with engineering and product development teams to align component sourcing with design requirements while maintaining strong supplier partnerships. As a key member of the Leadership Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the company’s strategic sourcing initiatives and ensuring a competitive edge in the electronics supply chain. The position works a hybrid schedule Monday-Friday, in Waukesha County .
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develop Electronics Component Strategies : Create and implement sourcing strategies for electronic components based on technology requirements, market trends, and supplier capabilities.
- Supplier Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic electronics suppliers, leveraging their capabilities to support innovative product designs.
- Component Procurement : Ensure the timely sourcing and procurement of electronic components to meet production schedules and mitigate risks related to component shortages.
- Team Leadership : Recruit, train, and mentor the sourcing team, setting clear goals and KPIs to enhance performance in electronics sourcing.
- Cost Optimization : Achieve cost reduction targets through strategic supplier negotiations and alternative sourcing options while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
- End-of-Life (EOL) Management : Proactively manage end-of-life components by collaborating with engineering and customers to identify alternatives and minimize supply chain disruptions.
- New Product Development Support : Partner with engineering teams to source and validate electronic components during product development phases, ensuring alignment with technical specifications.
- Supplier Performance : Monitor and improve supplier performance metrics, including quality, on-time delivery, and cost competitiveness.
- Inventory Management : Oversee inventory levels of electronic components, collaborating with finance to manage excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory effectively.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work with engineering, production, sales, and leadership teams to address supplier-related challenges and ensure seamless operations.
