Job Overview
Handles multi-functional areas of Human Resources for non-profit organization, including but not limited to: employee recruitment, retention and relations, performance, compensation and benefits, organizational development and training, while ensuring compliance with employment laws. Assists in directing the financial planning and accounting practices of the company by preparing, monitoring and updating HR related budgets. Oversees and provides back up for payroll processing and employee benefits management as needed.
Responsibilities
- Advertises and posts for open positions, arranges interviews, participates in the interview process, and recommends hiring of individuals.
- Prepares and administers all onboarding documentation for new hires.
- Oversees and maintains personnel records and utilizes customized database for human resource record keeping.
- Maintains and updates human resources documents, such as organizational charts, directories, and performance evaluation systems.
- Prepares and monitors quarterly and annual salary budget, projects budgets for upcoming fiscal year.
- Administers of a variety of personnel programs such as employee training (online and in person), professional development, safety activities, emergency planning and performance evaluations.
- Oversees Drug & Alcohol Program (Drug & Alcohol Program Manager) for safety sensitive positions.
- Assists managers and supervisors with handling staff issues including firing, conflict, discipline, scheduling, evaluations, etc.
- Participates in union contract negotiations and grievances.
- Ensures the organization’s compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
- Provides back-up for Payroll Specialist, performing bi-weekly payroll duties.
- Coordinates, in consultation with C.E.O. and Benefits Manager benefit plan renewals with the company’s fiscal/plan year and provides back-up for Benefits Manager as needed.
- Administers company 401(k) plans and completes annual 5500, compliance testing and wage data reports for retirement plans.
Experience
- Proven experience in an HR leadership role
- Strong knowledge of budgeting processes and contract management within an HR context.
- Demonstrated ability to manage employee relations effectively and resolve conflicts.
- Experience working with HR software systems such as Paychex and Microsoft Dynamics is highly desirable.
- Excellent organization and communication skills

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
