Project Description
The goal of this activity is to provide support to governmentled education systems to strengthen these and incentivize greater ownership of and investment in the education sector by the Government of the Republic of South Sudan (GRSS) to help strengthen the social contract and build functioning education institutions to enable future development.
Position Description
The Teacher Education Advisor will provide technical leadership for the professional development of inservice teachers and the implementation of accelerated learning programs for learners. The role focuses on improving the quality of teaching and learning ensuring alignment with South Sudans national curriculum and integrating inclusive education practices. The Advisor will work closely with government stakeholders State Anchors and implementing partners to design implement and evaluate teacher training initiatives.
This position is contingent upon award by the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office of the Government of the United Kingdom.
Qualifications : Education :
A minimum of a masters degree in in education teacher training curriculum development or a related field.
Skills and Experience :
Minimum of 10 years of experience in teacher education professional development or education system strengthening preferably in fragile or conflictaffected settings.
Proven experience designing and implementing inservice teacher training and accelerated learning programs.
Strong knowledge of inclusive education genderresponsive pedagogy and disability inclusion strategies.
Familiarity with education sector policies and donorfunded education programs in South Sudan or similar contexts.
Demonstrated ability to engage with government agencies donors and local education actors to strengthen education systems.
Excellent analytical communication and capacitybuilding skills.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Language :
Fluency in oral and written English is required.
Education :
