Now Hiring: Experienced Reading Tutor (K-5) – Education Empowered Learning Studio

Are you passionate about helping young learners develop strong reading skills? Education Empowered Learning Studio is seeking a dedicated and experienced tutor to work with students in kindergarten through 5th grade, with a strong focus on early literacy development.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a tutor who:

• Has experience teaching children how to read, with expertise in phonemic awareness, phonics, and foundational literacy skills for kindergarten through 2nd grade.

• Is skilled in administering and interpreting diagnostic screeners such as phonemic awareness assessments, quick phonics screeners, and running records to identify reading deficits.

• Can use assessment data to plan and implement targeted phonemic awareness and phonics activities, incorporating decodable readers to support student progress.

• Creates engaging, multisensory lessons that foster confidence and growth in young readers.

• Is patient, encouraging, and able to provide individualized instruction based on student needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (preferred)

• Experience working with K-5 students in a tutoring or classroom setting

Knowledge of structured literacy approaches (Orton-Gillingham training is a plus!)

• Strong understanding of phonemic awareness, phonics, and reading intervention strategies

• Ability to track student progress and communicate effectively with parents

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 12 per week

Schedule:

• After school
• Day shift
• Morning shift
• No weekends
