What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Marketing Manager for Company that Makes Coloring Book position at Education & Outreach Company?
We are the Education & Outreach Company: a small company that makes education and outreach materials located in the NYC area. We are biased — but we are pretty sure the company is a wonderful place to work. We make coloring & activity books, playing cards and many other fun products. And let's be honest, to say your job is to help make coloring books is pretty cool. We are looking for a part time marketing manager to join our team!
Some basics about why the job is great and a point or two that might make it seem less great:
1. You will help build out systems from the ground up. Some parts of our marketing have been fine-tuned over twenty years. Others we haven’t gotten around to yet.
2. We aren’t big on stress. So, while we will expect you to work efficiently and get things done, we focus on open communication and getting things done right the first go around.
3. You will have input in the operations of the company and make decisions on things that no big stuffy company would ever allow you to do.
4. We’re flexible. We understand that people have lives outside the office. We work hard to put in place processes that allow us to get our jobs done without our lives being taken over by the job. No one who works here misses a school concert, graduation, or other life event because of their job.
5. We hold our staff to high standards. To have input, avoid stress, and offer flexibility, everyone has to do their part.
Now, let’s talk about the job requirements:
- Strong writing and editing skills with ability to adapt tone for different audiences
- Experience with social media management and content creation
- Basic understanding of digital advertising platforms
- Knowledge of marketing analytics tools
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Finally, exactly what you would be doing:
- Develop and maintain targeted messaging for different client segments
- Create and manage content for product catalogs
- Craft engaging social media posts that resonate with specific audience segments
- Write informative blog posts highlighting educational trends and company initiatives
- Design and optimize digital advertising campaigns
- Develop effective advertising strategies to capture niche market segments
- Track performance metrics and provide insights to improve marketing effectiveness
- Support the sales and design teams with additional projects as needed
Location and Travel: This is a remote job. However, it would be helpful for the person to come into the office once or twice a month. That is easier if the person is within driving distance of NYC, but we will consider candidates from anywhere in the United States. The farther you are from NYC, the more travel might be required.
Unfortunately, we always find ourselves hiring when we are at our busiest. Because of the volume of responses we get, we can’t reply to everyone. We’re really sorry about that. But we do read every response and promise we are attempting to give them all the same level of consideration that you put into your responses. Please do not call, text, send messages to members of our staff or show up at our offices (its happened). We just don’t have the bandwidth to handle the inquiries in those forms. Please apply to the job through this site and we promise we will read every submission.
