What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Support Specialist – Education and Career Pathway Grant (Part-Time) position at Education Service Center Region 12?
Primary Purpose:
This position shall perform routine (journey-level) administrative support and technical assistance work, as well as provide support for the implementation of career and education pathways for the Heart of Texas Region. Assists in collecting and compiling data for the program. Assists with disseminating information on activities and meetings; ensuring communication of information is streamlined across the region; and coordinating continued cooperation across education and career and education pathways entities. Work involves assisting with the maintenance of partnerships with industry, education, and workforce development stakeholders, including convening a cross-sector leadership team and assisting with implementing a regional vision and strategy. May provide guidance to others.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Associate degree; and At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in programs related to education, business and/or public administration or a related field, Knowledge in the use of PC/Windows, Microsoft Office Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Professional, Zoom, Fax, Scanner, copier, and digital camera.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of employer, education, and student needs, and work-based learning concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and translate information with various stakeholders.
- Skill and ability to effectively present information to diverse groups, including all levels of staff, community organizations, employers, and educators.
- Ability to convene partners across industry and education sectors.
- Working knowledge of state, regional, and local initiatives related to career pathways and related education and training.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in both verbal and written communication.
- Knowledge in the use of PC/Windows, Microsoft Office Suite Application, and other software.
- Working knowledge of labor market information.
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
- Provides staff support for the Heart of Texas Education and Career pathway initiative.
- Assist staff with coordinating and implementing the Heart of Texas Career pathway strategic plan and supporting action plans in collaboration with staff and members of the cross-sector leadership team.
- Assist in ensuring communication of information is streamlined across our regional partners and education entities.
- Assists in collecting and compiling data for the career pathways program and assists with disseminating information on activities, seminars, training, and meetings.
- Assist staff with coordinating and developing work-based learning activities for grades K-12.
- Assist staff with employer engagement and foster relationships with education and training providers.
- Prepares and edits reports, correspondence, memos, charts, presentation slides, forms, and spreadsheets.
