What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher Incentive Allotment Lead position at Education Service Center Region 12?
Position Description:
The TIA Lead will play a critical role in expanding strategic compensation across the region. One of the major components of this work involves supporting LEAs in implementing a TIA system to increase the teaching talent pool, as well as increase retention of the district's instructional team. Specifically, the TIA Lead will engage directly with identified districts to support the development of a strategic compensation system, develop and implement a TIA strategy for sustainability, and engage districts around other state objectives to increase educator retention and recruitment. The TIA Lead will oversee the current work within the TIA Regional Support Grant, as well as other on demand/wrap-around services to help districts with any TIA related needs.
Objectives of the TIA Regional Support Grant Include:
- Increase the number of districts with TIA systems
- Increase the percentage of teachers eligible to earn TIA designations within local systems
- Increase success rates with TIA implementation and data validation
- Increase retention for TIA designated teachers
Job Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- Master's degree
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Strong long-term planning and project management skills, including establishing outcomes, determining evaluative measures, and tracking progress
- Outstanding interpersonal, teamwork, and management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Results orientation coupled with a strong work ethic and excellent organization, coordination, and time management skills
- Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity
Experience:
- Minimum of three years of experience in a senior district leadership role
- Prior experience working with TIA specifically, talent and/or budget systems
- Prior experience engaging school community members
- Previous experience in project management preferred
Essential Duties:
- Provide leadership in the design, development, and implementation of a robust strategic compensation system based on teacher and instructional leader effectiveness.
- Support districts with adopting, expanding, and implementing the TIA.
- Coordinate, track, and present project information to maintain stakeholder engagement and shared understanding across district teams, ESCs, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and sustain deep partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish systems and structures to support planning in alignment with all grant deliverables.
- Ensure grant compliance by collaborating within the district, the ESC, and the TEA and communicate those expectations to all stakeholders of the initiative.
- Develop a system for tracking strategies, identifying best practices, and supporting broader dissemination.
