Primary Purpose
Direct and manage the high school/elementary art program at assigned campus. Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth and provide opportunities to participate in fine art activities. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in local and area communities.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Demonstrated competency in art skills and art education
Preferred Texas valid teacher certification or able to obtain certification
Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of overall operation of a district art program
Knowledge of Texas curriculum and instruction
Ability to manage budget
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Ability to interpret data
Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Experience
One year student teaching or approved internship and art experience
