JOB SUMMARY: Manage the Intruder Detection Audit school safety program in accordance with requirements outlined by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting staff development and providing technical assistance related to school safety program requirements. Directly supervise designated staff to ensure proper implementation of school safety audits for school districts and charter schools in the Region 20 service area. Assist with program planning, implementation, and evaluation.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

JOB KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required.
Three years of relevant experience in the field of safety required.
Three or more years of management responsibility, facilitation skills, supervision, and coaching preferred.
Demonstrated ability to create, write, read, and interpret technical materials, including program reports.
Ability to motivate and influence others and effectively lead a team.
Ability to develop and interpret data and manage resources.
Demonstrate effective job-related skills that model effective integration of technology.
Strong organizational and analytic skills and strong attention to detail.
Ability to meet established deadlines and oversee complex state reporting requirements.

Maintain confidentiality and security of program materials and information.
Exhibit self-motivation and ensure high levels of quality, professionalism, and effectiveness.
Proficiency with standard functions with electronic applications on both mobile and traditional devices (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, G Suite, Apps) and email.
Proficiency with computers (PCs and/or MACs) to include desktop management, file management and operations, and working in a network environment.
Exceptions to these requirements will be considered based on exemplary skills, training, and record of success.


PRODUCTS/OUTCOMES
Provide program management, observe program delivery in the field, and offer leadership and expertise to school safety program staff.
Manage and work with School Safety Inspectors to ensure implement all requirements of school safety audits.
Direct and monitor the weekly work of School Safety Inspectors to ensure timely completion of Intruder Detection Audits with appropriate documentation and follow-up services to all relevant district, ESC, and TEA personnel.
Coordinate and manage activities for staff conducting Intruder Detection Audits on assigned campuses and document results in all reporting systems required.
Provide technical assistance to campus and district personnel in the area of physical school safety procedures.
Monitor, collect, and report program monthly audit completion status in the TEA dashboard.
Facilitate professional development training for staff to meet requirements of the school safety program.
Prepare, review, and report school safety program outcomes.
Assist in the development and implementation of program procedures.
Coordinate monthly program team meetings for the dissemination of information and resources.
Recommend and monitor payroll and supplies budget line items as well as mileage reimbursement for staff.
Review staff schedules, activity reports, and timesheets for accuracy.
Prepare monthly audit schedules and employee assignments, disseminate to staff, and adjust to meet required deadlines.
Attend all required in-service trainings and meetings.

SUPERVISION AND ORGANIZATION OF STAFF
Supervise multiple staff with work in multiple services and locations.
Ensure that a comprehensive system of supervision, substantive performance evaluation, and staff development is provided to staff members.
Recommend a staffing pattern for the program which ensures efficiency and effectiveness in all areas.
Recruit individuals who best match the requirements of the position and the culture of the Center.


BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY
Monitor time accounting records of personnel.
Be aware of and follow program guidelines of allowable costs when recommending use of program funds for expenditures for supplies, equipment, and facilities in area of assignment.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals.
Posture: Prolonged sitting/standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent region-wide travel; occasional statewide/nationwide travel; exposure to low or intense illumination.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Function within the policies and administrative procedures of ESC-20.
Accept other responsibilities as assigned.
Dress and groom appropriately for the ESC-20 work setting.
Travel independently to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
Serve at the will of the Executive Director.
