About ESG

Education Strategy Group (ESG) is a mission-driven consulting organization that works with America’s education, business, and civic leaders to expand economic opportunity and mobility by increasing educational attainment. Founded in 2012, ESG supports the preparation, entry, and success of individuals from K-12 through postsecondary education to build a more equitable system, open economic doors for all, and strengthen our democracy. ESG specializes in strengthening the transition points that have the highest stakes for youth and adults and the highest benefit for states, communities, and economies. We are driven by the conviction that a robust education system aligned with workforce demand leads to a stronger, more equitable society.

At ESG, we bring deep experience leading policy development, advocacy, and implementation work in the K-12, postsecondary, and workforce sectors. We are a virtual organization that enables our staff to work where they have built their lives.

ESG’s work is organized across four portfolios: Postsecondary Attainment, Postsecondary Transitions, Career Readiness, and Talent Strategy. To learn more, see our website.

The Internship Program

ESG’s paid summer internship program is designed for current or recent graduate students or exceptional undergraduate students in public policy, education policy, or related fields who are dedicated to supporting innovative, cross-sector approaches to closing equity gaps in students’ postsecondary preparation, access, and success. Interns will play an integral role in the execution of projects across the firm through:

(1) conducting quantitative and qualitative research and analysis,

(2) supporting local or state-level technical assistance projects,

(3) providing project management and logistical support; and/or

(4) contributing to the development of tools, reports, and other written communications.

Interns will be expected to work 40 hours per week for approximately 10 weeks, from late-May to mid-August, and will be compensated monthly at a rate of $30 per hour. This internship opportunity is fully remote, allowing you to work/learn from the comfort of your chosen location. Please note that access to a personal workstation, a reliable computer, and a stable internet connection is required.
