Summary of Position Functions:
Reports to Managers, Academics, and Career Counselors. Responsible for coordinating and implementing the Career Preparation Period Program for Week-Four, and the Evening Academic Program for students, in compliance with government and management directives.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct the Career Preparation Week-Four Program and other activities, in accordance with Corporate Guidelines, the Policy and Requirement Handbook (PRH) Guidelines and the approved schedules.
- Develop, prepare, and deliver Career Preparation Lessons; use a variety of teaching strategies to meet the students’ learning needs.
- Develop, deliver, and prepare the IXL and Lexia Lessons.
- Develop, prepare and deliver the TABE Academy Lessons for each student.
- Recommend an appropriate training program for each assigned student, using background files, personal interviews, tests and variety of other assessment tools.
- Provide students with employment, career and technical education, personal and social adjustment counseling on individual and group basses.
- Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.
- Continuously evaluate individual students’ behavior, participation, and commitment within programs. Intervene when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
- Maintain documentation and training records for each student using the CIS Program, as well as other systems of documentation.
- Identify areas needed and coordinate services for improving guidance and development techniques within the Career Preparation and Academic Programs.
- Assist in evaluating students and make recommendations of modifications of individual programs for improvement.
- Support and promote center’s Zero Tolerance Policy.
- Participate in the student Employability Programs and activities.
- Promote the development of Core Values, Career Success Standards, and the Center’s Minimum standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where needed, and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.

- Attend All Staff Training Sessions

- Excellent phone and people skills

Educational Requirements & Experiences:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science, Education, or a related field.
- One-year related experience required. Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

- Mathematical Ability: Able to perform basic math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percent, and to build and interpret graphs.
- Language Ability: Able to speak, read, write, and understand the English Language. Ability to read at an accelerated rate and use dictionary to determine meaning and pronunciation of unfamiliar words. Ability to write complex sentences, using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to communicate complex ideas, using correct grammar and punctuation.
