What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wellness Specialist position at Education & Training Resources LLC?
SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION:
Provides administrative support to the Health and Wellness Department principally. Develop and maintain a sustainable Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) program with the goal of improving services to adolescent sexual assault victims, sexual assault investigation, evidence collection, and prosecution. Directs co-ordination and Center Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) administration.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains and files student medical records.
Answers phones, schedules appointments, arrange student transportation needs, and greets students.
Assists students in completing medical insurance documents.
Monitors missed appointments and follows up as necessary. Updates missed appointments in Center Information System (CIS).
Completes purchase requisitions for medical supplies and payment to vendors.
Enters CA-1 data into the Safety Health Information Management System (SHIMS).
Maintains a log of medically separated students.
Opens, sorts and distributes incoming correspondence, including faxes.
Follows all HIPPA rules and regulations.
Assists the center in every effort necessary to achieve its OMS goals, as well as ensuring that the Zero Tolerance Policy is strictly adhered.
Promotes a positive work environment demonstrating career success standards and core values.
Models appropriate behaviors, mentors students and monitors both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
Coordinate effective interagency collaboration to generate a coordinated response team to meet the needs of adolescent sexual assault survivors
Monitor and evaluate EEO compliance with equal opportunity laws, guidelines, and policies.
Prepare reports related to investigations of equal opportunity complaints.
Prepare research reports on EEO topics for student education.
Interview persons involved in equal opportunity complaints to verify case information.
Interview witnesses, suspects, or claimants.
Counsel students of minority or disadvantaged groups, informing them about details of civil rights laws.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge of state and federal laws regulating patient privacy (HIPPA)
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Meticulous documentation/recording skills and attention to detail; excellent time management skills
Excellent customer service skills; ability to multi-task
Proficient in the use of computer software such as MSWord, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.
Ability to effectively operate office equipment
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma and experience equivalence to an Associate degree.
EXPERIENCE:
Two years of experience supporting medical environment experience preferred.
Proven ability to work with stakeholders from multiple disciplines and develop collaborative relationships.
Must possess valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
