Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and member-focused Teller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members while accurately processing transactions and maintaining a secure environment. As a Teller, you will play a crucial role in building member relationships and ensuring their banking needs are met efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Process member transactions including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments with accuracy.
- Adhere to the Educational and Governmental Employees FCU high service standards, as communicated by the supervisor.
- Daily balancing of cash drawer and calculating the end-of-day totals
- Identify potential fraud through vigilant monitoring of transactions and implement fraud prevention detection measures.
- Assist members with inquiries regarding their accounts, products, and services both in person and via the phone, while promoting additional services through upselling techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of debits and credits in member accounts using financial software.
- Assist in balancing Automated Teller Machine (ATM), as needed
- Foster strong member relationships through effective communication and personalized service.
- Ensure the teller area is organized, clean, and secure at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cash handling or as a Teller is preferred.
- Strong basic math skills for accurate transaction processing.
- Familiarity with financial software is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with our members.
- Knowledge of sales techniques and experience in upselling products is a plus.
- Ability to detect signs of fraud and take appropriate action when necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records.
- A commitment to upholding security protocols within the banking environment.
- Previous banking/Credit Union experience a plus.
- High School Degree or equivalent
