As a Career Advisor, you will be responsible for providing case management and career counseling to customers and providing support and assistance in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement.
Successful Elements:
- Create individualized employment plan/development plan with qualifying client
- Ensure compliance within WIOA regulation
- Conduct in-person/remote orientation sessions to iterate all relevant program requirements, expectations, and documentation to entering client
- Build professional one-on-one working relationships with customers to assist in eliminating challenges that are hindrances to obtaining and retaining employment
- Provide referrals to appropriate community service or social service agencies when needed
- Maintain organized database of customers and keep detailed documentation of all contacts
- Provide consistent and comprehensive case management follow-up ensuring that contacts are made as required by specific contract and accommodating customer work schedules
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human resources, or related area is preferred
- Experience working with the unemployed and underemployed population preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as to function effectively as a team
- Ability to work effectively with external government bodies and community partners
- Ability to prioritize tasks and document all client interaction
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Clean driving record, valid Driver’s License, and reliable vehicle required
- Regional travel is required
