Program Support Specialist
EPI’s Program Support Specialists support EPI program teachers with their classroom practices, helping them to facilitate authentic cultural exchange while also achieving learning outcomes. Program Support Specialists assist EPI program teachers with culture shock, wellness, and navigating logistical issues related to their relocation to the US. They also monitor key points in the teacher’s practice and provide suggestions and feedback to help improve performance as needed. To facilitate this support, they carry out scheduled meetings through video calling, telephone calling, text messaging, and email. Program Support Specialists seek to build and maintain relationships with their teachers in order to provide timely and efficient coaching that benefits the teacher and ultimately, the students that they teach.

Position Requirements:
- Exhibits outstanding interpersonal and communication skills through multiple mediums
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and/or independently
- Incidental travel inherent to job duties (when required)
- Attendance at all professional developments and orientations (when required)
- Must be able to work effectively under deadline pressures and environments with minimal supervision
- Must be self-motivated, highly detail-oriented, well-organized, and highly ethical
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
- Must have professional, documentable counseling experience
- Must have Bachelor’s degree or greater
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (see 22 CFR 62.2)
Preferred but Not Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or greater in Education, Counseling, or a related field
- One year or more of classroom teaching experience
- The ability to speak Spanish, Tagalog, or other language
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of exchange teachers
- Providing guidance to overcome culture shock and wellness issues
- Diagnosing instructional issues
- Utilizing internal resources to explain effective US classroom strategies to international teachers
- Utilizing internal resources and professional knowledge to help teachers experiencing culture shock or mental wellness challenges
- Working with other EPI team members to help program teachers develop in their practice
- Monitoring and encouraging the successful completion of the exchange program
- Assisting with inquiries and interacting with EPI’s school district partners
- Interviewing teacher candidates remotely to determine professional abilities
- Helping teachers develop plans for arriving in the US
- Delivering presentations to audiences of 50-150 people
- Preparing reports and tracking data
- Communicating over different mediums, including public speaking
- Coaching and mentoring people through difficult decisions and obstacles
- Maintaining a positive and professional attitude, even when confronted with challenges
- Staying flexible with work duties
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree
- One or more years of teaching experience in a K-12 US classroom (preferred)
- Understanding team strategies and objectives
- The motivation to effectively problem-solve
- An appreciation for diversity and cultural interaction
- Advanced computer and writing skills
- Ability to travel in the Summers to EPI Orientation Events
- Ability to travel incidentally to regional school districts
