The Big Walnut Local School District seeks an outstanding educational leader to serve as Big Walnut High School Assistant Principal. This is a 225-day position beginning the 2025.2026 school year with administrative benefits.

- displays exemplary leadership in curriculum, instruction and assessment
- has a strong understanding of research-based best practices
- possesses knowledge of high school curriculum and innovative practices that meet the needs of students for the 21st century
- has skills consistent with the Ohio Standards for Principals (https://sboe.ohio.gov/educator-standards-and-programs/educator-standards/educator-standards
- is trained in or will be trained in OTES - including experience with classroom walk-throughs, knowledge of student growth measures
- possesses excellent communication skills as a speaker and listener, as well as the interpersonal skills to work tactfully, creatively and collaboratively with staff, students, parents and community members
- demonstrates student-centered leadership
- has experience in supporting positive school climate and culture
- evidences a strong work ethic and high energy level
- possesses proven ability to evaluate teachers, staff and programs for optimal effectiveness
- demonstrates a high level of visibility in the school and wider school community, in both during and in after-school events
- has experiences in implementing an effective Response to Intervention (RtI) model
- understands needs and laws pertaining to students with disabilities
- has the ability to lead the district vision and build an environment of continuous improvement
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree or higher in Educational Administration
- Valid State of Ohio administrative licensure
- Experience in classroom, experience in administration preferred
