Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or work experience in mathematics, statistics, education, psychology, sociology, political science, business or closely related field.
- Documentation of a clear criminal record in compliance with state statute.
- Complies with drug-free workplace rules and Board policies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to produce and present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Ability to build and maintain effective collaborative relationships with school districts, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, state agencies, and community partners.
- Familiarity with educational policy analysis and its implications on teaching and learning.
- Prior experience in an academic or research institution.
- Experience with large-scale data collection and longitudinal studies.
Note: This assignment may require a valid driver’s license and access/availability to a reliable vehicle. Employees must meet all prerequisite and ongoing qualifications to be covered by the service center’s insurance carrier.

Job Objectives:
Lends expertise and knowledge to Center for Achievement and Leadership staff and Superintendent concerning data sources, collection, reporting, and analysis. Works to collect, analyze, and report data that impacts leadership, teaching, and learning and assists staff in making fact and statistical-based decisions.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
The following duties are representative of performance expectations; however, the list below is not ranked in order of importance.
- Uphold board policies and follow administrative guidelines and procedures.
- Promote a favorable image of the service center. Support community/school partnerships that enhance the service center’s operational effectiveness.
- Create clear and impactful visual representations of research findings and insights, such as charts, graphs, and infographics, to effectively communicate complex data to diverse audiences.
- Design and conduct quantitative and qualitative research studies on various educational topics, including student learning outcomes, teacher effectiveness, curriculum development, and educational technology.
- Analyze and interpret research data, utilizing statistical methods and software tools to produce accurate findings.
- Write research reports, academic papers, and policy briefs to communicate findings to educators, administrators, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide recommendations based on research findings to improve teaching strategies, educational programs, and institutional practices.
- Build, develop, and support data systems, dashboards, and performance metrics that guide key business decisions.
- Manage and optimize processes for data collection, validation, analysis, and visualization.
- Provide support for internal and external data and research tasks as needed.
- Organize and drive successful completion of data insight initiatives through effective internal data management and collaboration with ESCCO staff.
- Oversee the design and delivery of internal reports and insights that analyze business functions, key operations, and performance metrics.
- Guide clients in using their own data for decision-making.
- Foster a culture of data and continuous improvement through training and supporting ESCCO staff.
- Perform other specific job-related duties as directed by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
Job Performance is evaluated according to the policy provisions adopted by the Governing Board of the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio.
