Intervention Specialist in a K-5 Elementary School - beginning in the 2025/2026 school year.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Ohio educator license as an Intervention Specialist (K-12)
- Specialized area of Mild/Moderate K-12 or Moderate/Intensive K-12
- Certified in crisis prevention, trauma-informed behavioral support strategies
- Trained in multisensory structured literacy intervention or willingness to obtain
- Experience as a case manager in creating, developing, and implementing services, plans, and programs for students eligible for special education services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, including but not limited to Individual Educational Programs (IEP), Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP), and Safety Plans.
- Ensures the safety of students and serves as a role model;
- Plans instruction to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students;
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and supports students’ sense of belonging;
- Specializes in designing and implementing instructional interventions in subject content (i.e. reading, writing, math) and social, emotional, behavioral, and executive functioning skills;
- Specializes in differentiation of content, process, product, and environment to support students' needs;
- Willingness to collaborate with grade-level teams and department colleagues to review student data, create and revise curricula, review instructional practices, and develop common assessments;
- Commitment to communicating and establishing positive relationships with families and students;
- Assesses student growth regularly and provides progress reports to families and formative feedback to students;
- Creates methods to collect data on students’ goals and objectives and collects needed data to inform students’ growth and effectiveness of their specially designed instruction;
- Serves as a resource for colleagues, staff, and administrators as a specialist in intervention;
- Commitment to learning and implementing restorative practices;
- Self-reflective of their performance, abilities, strengths, areas of growth, and instructional practices;
- Commitment to equity and inclusion;
