Reports to: Building Principal, Director of Curriculum, and Superintendent
Qualifications
Employees must follow all board policies, all state, and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education. Subject to all applicable laws, essential job functions of this position include the employee being punctual and capable of completing all of the duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
The successful candidate must complete any Vector/Safe Schools courses as recommended and assigned by the administration.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio and in good standing with the Ohio Board of Nursing
- Ohio School Nurse License preferred or willingness to attain
- Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Nursing
- CPR Certified
- A minimum of two years school nursing experience and experience in community health, pediatrics, emergency care and triage, psychiatry, and/or a physician's office preferred
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Follow medically approved procedures as prescribed by a physician
- Knowledge of universal precautions and ability to teach this to others
- Possess basic pharmacological knowledge
- Ability to assess emergency situations and respond accordingly
- Ability to use clinic/medical equipment
- Management and development of individual health care plans and 504 plans
- Complete the process for third-party billing with Medicaid to obtain reimbursement for skilled nursing care.
- Ensure District screenings are reported in accordance with Ohio Department of Education timelines
- Collaborate with various agencies and partnerships; be a "Team Player"
- Good oral and written communication skills including basic computer skills
- General Responsibilities
- Other skills and requirements expected by the district nurse include management and organizational ability, common sense, motivation, positive attitude; and the ability/willingness to participate in ongoing professional and staff development both independently and through system-offered opportunities.
- Manage and coordinate the assigned school's health services program based on requirements established by school district policies, procedures, and protocols, and by local, state and national regulations and statues
- Maintain the school clinic operations in collaboration with our health care services provider
- Ensure compliance with procedures, protocols, and other instructions contained in district manuals.

- Appropriate and valid Ohio School Nurse License if applicable
- Copy of Registered Nurse certification
- Current favorable State and Federal background checks
- Official Sealed Transcripts
- Negative drug screen
