Position Title: Teacher – Valley Virtual Remote Learning Academy
Category: Certified; Bargaining Unit eligible; FLSA exempt.
Contract: Initial one-year contract; contract days as determined by the Governing Board; other terms and conditions of employment as per the CBA and/or Board Policy.
Compensation: Salary, insurance coverage, and fringe benefits as per the current Board adopted policies and schedules, with placement for granted education, experience, and responsibility.
Education/Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Education
Reports to: Director and Coordinator, Valley Virtual
Supervises: Assigned Aides (if applicable)
Job Goal: In summary, this position is responsible for instructing and evaluating students enrolled in the ESCEO / Valley Virtual program.
Qualifications: The following qualifications are considered as guidelines:
· Valid Ohio teaching license/certificate.
· Prior distant learning experience is preferred.
· Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and software/programs.
· Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
· Abilities to promote positive internal and external customer relations
· Ability to be flexible in work-related duties.
· Alternative to the above as approved by the Governing Board.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Implements all instructional objectives delineated in the assigned curricula and IEP’s and monitors the delivery of other educational services.
2. Prepares and/or individualizes lessons and materials in content areas assigned.
3. Aligns all instructional activities with Ohio Academic Content Standards.
4. Develops positive working relationships with students, parents, school personnel and the public.
5. Participates in the program’s and the ESC’s non-instructional responsibilities and/or extra- curricular activities.
6. Participates in the development of individual educational plans and programs for students served.
7. Attends in-services, professional meetings, workshops and staff meetings deemed necessary by the administration to ensure the appropriate delivery of services delineated in the IEP.
8. Participates in course of study and curriculum committees to update current curriculum options.
9. Maintains participation records of students being served via a student contact log.
10. Communicates with students via assigned frequency via electronic mail and/or other method(s).
11. Meets face-to-face with students/families as directed by the program Coordinator.
12. Administers assessments to students as directed by the program Coordinator.
13. Maintains confidentiality of information and student records.
14. Assists program Coordinator in identifying student and program needs.
15. Collects and reports data as directed by the program Coordinator.
16. Maintains proper care and inventory of all school property assigned to the program.
17. Participates in professional growth activities, as approved by program Coordinator.
18. Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent.
