What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alternative School Supervisor position at Educational Service Center of Medina County?
Description:
The Educational Service Center of Medina County provides both in-person and online educational programs for students who are more successful in an alternative educational setting. We utilize a combination of online curriculum and staff-created workbooks and provide one-on-one instruction and support for students to ensure they successfully complete their graduation requirements. Alternative School Teachers report to the SUPERVISOR and are responsible for:
- Scheduling of staff and students
- Maintaining required education records including grades and attendance
- Creating and providing progress reports to home school district and parents
- Providing administrative support and leadership to alternative school staff
- Providing instruction and instructional support to students
- Planning and implementing training for staff
- Coordinating with transportation departments
- Maintaining a productive and conducive learning environment in the classroom
Requirements:
- Teaching license or ability to renew previous license
- Administrative (Principal) Licensure desired but not required
Success Measures:
- The success of this position is measured, ultimately, by the percentage of on-track graduations. The program has a track record of graduating approximately 75% of the students who come in behind their peers either on time or early. In order to achieve this the candidate must connect with staff and students in such a way that supports an alternative learning environment which is simultaneously supportive and holds students accountable for their educational success.
Hours and Days:
- 5 hours/day; 5 days/week
Salary:
- $35-$45/hour
