Position Summary:
Fairport Harbor Exempted Village Schools is seeking a qualified and passionate Intervention Specialist to lead a self-contained special education classroom at the middle school level. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that meets the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction to students with diverse learning needs in a self-contained setting.
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student growth.
Use data to guide instruction and modify strategies as needed.
Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.
Comply with district policies and state/federal regulations related to special education services.
Qualifications:
Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist teaching license (K–12 or appropriate grade band).
Experience working in a special education setting preferred.
Strong knowledge of IEP development, instructional accommodations, and behavior intervention strategies.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
