Overview:
This position involves providing full-time classroom teaching in an intermediate (4-6) or middle school (7-8) classroom, focusing on establishing a safe and positive learning environment while delivering rigorous and engaging instruction.
Salary:The current salary range is $52,251-$98,484 annually based on education and experience.
Location:
This position will be in located in Skamania, Washington. Essential Functions:
- Establish and clarify acceptable standards for student behavior, demonstrating effective classroom management skills.
- Monitor students across various educational settings to ensure a safe and positive learning environment, addressing social and emotional issues as they arise.
- Deliver direct instruction to students within a regular classroom setting.
- Motivate and effectively communicate with students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.
- Incorporate relevant, rigorous, and challenging learning activities into daily lessons.
- Differentiate instruction to meet with varying levels of student ability.
- Attend and actively contribute to staff meetings, training sessions, and IEP/504 meetings.
- Collaborate with fellow staff members in planning district curriculum and instructional methods, as well as settings goals and objectives.
- Maintain a cooperative attitude while working with leadership, colleagues, parents, and students.
- Actively participate in the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process.
1. Performing other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective function of the work unit. Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS or higher degree with a major in one of the following areas: Elementary Education, Reading (ELA), Mathematics, Science, or Curriculum.
- Hold or be eligible to hold a Washington State Teaching License, Emergency Substitute, or Conditional Teaching License.
- Hold and maintain an appropriate license and endorsement(s) from the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission in the State of Washington.
- Knowledge of age-appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum framework, education code, appropriate instructional subjects, and State Instructional Standards.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Regular attendance during scheduled work hours.
Employment Requirements:
- Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through WSP and FBI.
