Under the direction of the LINKS Project Manager, the Lead Family Coordinator supports increased access and connection to the children's behavioral health system in the Educational Service District 112 region. The Lead Family Coordinator is a liaison between state and community-based organizations, educational systems, and the youth and families they serve. The Lead Family Coordinator assists in identifying system gaps and needs and collaborates with local, regional and state youth serving systems to address these gaps. Utilizing personal experience, the Lead Family Coordinator will provide peer support for families and caregivers navigating the mental health services system.

Salary:

The full pay range for this position is $47,103.95 - $57,311.94. Offers are made at the entry level of the range.  

Assignment:

The person in this role will work full-time, 200 days per year. We have two vacancies available.

Anticipated start date is February 2025.

Essential Function:
  1. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to prioritize, negotiate and achieve the goals of the system of care.
  2. Lead parent and community engagement activities for the systems of care.
  3. Provide Peer-to-Peer Support, build and strengthen family involvement to influence and understand behavioral health services.
  4. Provide families with tools to advocate for their child in youth serving systems.
  5. Identify specific family engagement practices and programs to increase the level and frequency of family engagement.
  6. Identify community-based organizations and BIPOC-focused organizations, working with children, youth and families underrepresented in children's behavioral health services.
  7. Meet with local community based organizations who support children's behavioral health services.
  8. Assess the strategies implemented by community-based organizations and help identify gaps in services and supports, and opportunities to expand and/or create new services and programs offered by community-based organizations.
  9. Support the evaluation of the System of Care.
Other Functions:
  1. Other duties as assigned. 
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health and experience working with children, youth and their families with behavioral health needs and/or disabilities, OR an Associate's degree or higher and two years of experience working with family engagement professionals, families of children with behavioral health needs and/or disabilities, OR a High School diploma or GED and lived experience advocating for children's behavioral health in the social service system and working with family engagement professionals. 
  2. Experience building relationships across diverse populations.  
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Bilingual.
  2. Experience working in schools. 
  3. Experience working with social services.


Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  1. Valid driver's license. 
  2. Travel to districts in the ESD 112 region. 
  3. Flexible and extended hours may be required to accomodate meetings or travel. 
Employment Requirements:
  1. Successful completion of a criminal history records and fingerprint background check through the Washington State Patrol  and FBI.
