Job Summary :

The Retirement Consultant is responsible for providing education on the client’s current employee retirement plan while providing a thorough explanation of applicable products at the time of enrollment and assisting with the administration / enrollment of all retirement benefits, including but not limited to annuities, life insurance, and other products that are available in the 403b / 457 tax shelters.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Provide a range of advice on selecting, purchasing, and utilizing benefits
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Interact with and educate potential and existing clients in the products that best suit their needs
  • Assess client needs and recommend benefits to fill those needs and help accomplish their goals
  • Assist clients in the planning and implementation of product solutions

Type and Scope of Supervisory Responsibilities :

  • This position has no supervision responsibilities.??
  • Skills and Qualifications :

  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Ability to learn and operate enrollment software and systems
  • Ability to operate online phone system as well as various web applications appropriate for client needs
  • Work Experience Required for this Job :

  • Two years' experience in benefits administration and or insurance and sales
  • Current licensed life insurance agent preferred; if not licensed, must be able to obtain life insurance license prior to employment or within first 60 days of employment.

  • Series 65 Securities license will need to be obtained within 6 months after completion of introductory period.
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Education Required for this Job :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Must attend and complete company provided two-week training with management
  • Attendance Requirements :

  • Daily online attendance required in remote work environment during normal business working hours
  • In-person and / or hybrid attendance occasionally required for company and / or team meetings / Client meetings
  • The Company reserves the right to require in-person attendance at the Company’s worksite at any time. The Company also reserves the right to make full-time attendance at the Company’s worksite an essential job function for this position if attendance becomes necessary to increase productivity, to develop teamwork, to conduct training, to better address customer needs, or to accomplish any other valid business goal. If full-time attendance requirements for this position change materially, the Company will provide thirty (30) days’ prior notice of the change.
  • Position Type / Expected Hours of Work :

  • This is a full-time position. The days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
  • Core business hours are 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. but the employees’ schedules are at the discretion of the supervisor and dependent on the needs of the business.
  • Travel :

  • Local, in state and out-of-state travel is required. Overnight travel is to be expected
  • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of area and overnight travel may be expected throughout the year, primarily October- December.
