Assistant Residential Director – Program Activities

Job Overview:EduExplora is seeking highly organized and passionate individuals to serve as Assistant Directors for our 2025 summer pre-college programs. There are two specialized roles: Assistant Director of Program Activities and Assistant Director of Staff Experience & Operations. Both positions will work closely with the Residential Director and other staff members to ensure smooth program operations. The Assistant Director of Program Activities will oversee the planning and execution of program activities and events, while the Assistant Director of Staff Experience & Operations will focus on managing staff schedules, evaluations, and support. These roles provide valuable leadership experience in a dynamic and collaborative setting. This role involves significant discretion and independent judgment in managing program operations, staff supervision, and logistical decisions to ensure the program's success. The Assistant Residential Director (ARD) plays a crucial role in overseeing a team of 10-20 seasonal staff, including Residential Counselors and Head Counselors, ensuring they carry out their responsibilities effectively
Key Responsibilities:
Assistant Residential Director – Program Activities:
- Oversee all aspects of evening student activities, ensuring a safe, engaging, and well-organized environment that fosters community and student engagement.
- Supervise Head Counselors, providing guidance in the planning and execution of activities and events, including multicultural nights, talent shows, and pool parties.
- Collaborate with the Residential Director and site leadership to develop, refine, and implement the weekly activity schedule, ensuring a diverse range of events that align with program goals.
- Manage logistics for off-campus trips and excursions, ensuring smooth coordination of transportation, reservations, and activity arrangements.
- Prioritize student safety during all activities, ensuring adherence to program rules and policies.
- Lead staff in the setup and breakdown of activities, ensuring all materials and equipment are properly accounted for and stored.
- Contribute to staff training and development, offering ongoing support to Head Counselors and Residential Counselors to ensure effective program delivery.
