An Interaction and Communication designer at Edward Jones supports the firm’s transformation in delivering experiences of value for clients, branch teams and associates. You play an important role in the development of user-centric experiences by creating engaging and creative visuals that communicate and represent the brand.

- Have a wide range of visual design skills, can design in digital and print formats
- Confidently present visual design concepts, clearly articulate ideas, and participate in collaboration and ideation sessions with leaders, developers, and stakeholders
- Understand, and be able to, integrate user research insights into designs; use insights and key findings to support design decision-making
- Be comfortable working and flexing in ambiguity; Ability to handle multiple tasks with competing deadlines
- Be comfortable working with executives to "understand the ask" before jumping into action
- Stay current with design trends and best practices, and share your knowledge with others
- Have a high attention to detail and solve a range of design challenges
- Build relationships with key stakeholders and design peers
- Respond well to direction, embrace feedback and change
- Support work teams to achieve clear problem statement definition, define big ideas and capabilities, and pressure-test ideas through design research, test and learn methodologies, and value evaluation for return on investment.
- Effectively communicate in verbal and written venues to senior level leaders to present strategic opportunities, align to firm strategy/goals/objectives, define business cases, and develop strategic roadmaps.
- Negotiate business outcomes with other design leaders and define design outcomes.
- Quickly build trusting relationships. Provide coaching, feedback and guidance to business leader collaborators, squad members, and junior peers of their craft.
- Provide day-to-day indirect people and direct process leadership, without direct management authority, to a multi-disciplinary team made up of both leaders and associates within a design team.
- Co-lead alignment between design, business, and delivery workstreams to integrate business analytics, business capabilities, user and market research into the solutioning process to ensure outcomes delivered appropriately balance user value, business value, and feasibility.
- Exercises strong critical thinking and sound judgment while independently making decisions within division level projects and providing consultation and oversight to those executing department level projects. In doing so, the lead:
- Evaluates a range of potential capabilities including change management, design thinking, process design, process improvement, and project/program management to achieve the project's desired outcome.
- Gathers and evaluates necessary perspective to independently make decisions without input from higher levels.
- Investigates and resolves escalations with varying and high degrees of complexity and impact.
- Identifies and mitigates risks associated with designed experiences delivering on user needs and business outcomes.
- Successfully oversee and/or directly lead multiple division level projects concurrently.
- Co-lead the development and/or improvement of processes that have firm-wide benefits, changing the fundamental way the firm creates, captures, and/or delivers value for a particular client or colleague segment or strategy.

- Bachelor’s degree in a field of Design
- e.g. Graphic Design, Fine Arts/Studio Design, Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Visual Design, Industrial Design
- 5 years of progressive design experience
- Advanced skills in digital and print design. Ability to design prototypes, visuals, and collateral at the corporate level that achieve business objectives and adhere to brand standards.
- Direct or indirect people leadership experienced leading design teams to a fluent level of collaboration preferred
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, building relationships at all levels of the organization, and effectively tailoring messaging and approach to multiple audiences
- Ability to quickly engage and inspire a diverse, multi-disciplinary team
- Expertise in design tools (Figma, Illustrator and Photoshop, and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of emerging design trends and technology related to one’s own discipline
- Clearly communicate design decisions to stakeholders
- Change agility and comfort operating and flexing in ambiguity; Ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Experience in DevOps Methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) desired
- Some travel required
