The cornerstone of the Edward Jones Client experience is the relationship between the client and branch team. A key enabler of the relationship is the client's digital experience; clients want to engage and connect with their branch teams online. As an Architect on the Digital Client Experience product team, you'll collaborate with our team to deliver an innovative and unique client experience across Android, iOS, and traditional desktop platforms.
You'll join an experienced product team that just completed a full re-build of our client facing applications using Kotlin, Swift, Angular, REST, Docker & Kubernetes, Mongo DB, GitHub, and cloud-ready architecture.
What you'll do…
- Act as a Mobile Architect with emphasis on Android.
- Communicate and collaborate with an experienced cross-functional agile team in support of the Edward Jones Digital Client Experience.
- Design and help build innovative solutions within our mobile and web platforms.
- Support and monitor the availability of systems that are used by more than 3.5 million clients.
- Adapt and iterate to ensure the best possible experience for users.
- Mentor and coach teammates on the product team.
- Collaborate within the delivery team and across the release train to translate business requirements into system design.
- Work directly with business analysts on requirements and prepare technical specifications, architecture documents and artifacts
- Proactively seek technical improvements and the modernization of the product.
- Perform architect role under minimal direction to help developers design, code, test, debug, and maintain programs.
- Define the overall technical architecture and strategy
- Enforce development best practices and ensure quality delivery through unit testing, automation, and performing code reviews.
What Experience You Need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or the equivalent in experience.
- 8 Years of demonstrated experience in mobile Android development preferred.
- 2 Years of demonstrated experience in architecture design, documentation and agile team leadership.
- Knowledge of Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Hilt is required.
- Advanced-level understanding of Android development
- Native Android development experience; iOS Native development and cross-platform experience a plus!
- Familiarity with all aspects of Google Play Store and MDMs
- Experience with key tools used for CI/CD
- Knowledge of mobile app security
- Understanding of mobile application development architecture patterns
- Excellent skills in interpersonal, written, and oral communication
What you'll work on…
- Next-generation client experience: Mobile - specifically for Android with focus on Kotlin, REST, Docker & Kubernetes, Databases (Oracle, DB2, MongoDB), and the product team also leverages cloud architecture
- Support of existing client products
